Title Emergency Road Services Fleet Staff Coordinator

Position Overview
Our Emergency Road Services Team (ERS) has a Temporary Full-Time (Maternity Leave Coverage) opening for an ERS Fleet Staff Coordinator to ensure that agreed staffing levels and scheduling are in place and to maintain accurate related time-keeping and operational records for the ERS Fleet.
 
The jobholder is responsible for scheduling 85-90 full, part-time and casual Fleet and Battery Assist staff who work a wide variety of shifts in a continuous 24-hour operation. He/She initiates overtime to cover for any deficiencies and/or periods of heavy volumes, oversees and reports on absenteeism, maintains and submits related payroll records and generates and maintains operational reports.
 
The jobholder assists in the control of Fleet salary expenses and has the authority to authorize expenses related to overtime and/or the use of part-time and/or casual labour.
Key Responsibilities Include
  1. Reviews daily Fleet schedules and implements any required adjustments
  2. Authorizes and controls requests for shift changes, vacation requests and days off in lieu
  3. Maintains departmental time-keeping and absentee records
  4. Maintains ERS Fleet statistical reports
Minimum Qualifications
  • Completion of grade 12
  • A minimum of 3 years motoring services operational experience
  • Must be precise and able to meet deadlines and possess very good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Above average ability to deal with staff and related issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Knowledge of excel, word or other spreadsheets and database programs
